Smithers-Oasis at IPM 2020
The BLOOM’s team again presented the special show BLOOM’s WORLD at the most important and largest trade fair IPM in Essen with a variety of innovative products from the participating partners. The focus was on the latest trends, plus plenty of ideas for theme presentations and product ranges for small and large business formats in the flower and plant trade.
With JUST SIMPLE the BLOOM’s team headed the latest trends for the year 2020. JUST SIMPLE thus not only hits the core of the new message, it means more than just reduction. JUST SIMPLE incorporates the ecological aspect of our current consumer behavior and calls for a rethink. A return to simplicity plays a central role in this.
BLOOM’s designer and trend scout Marion Bauer and her team have identified five different aspects and trendy style orientations. These were presented in their floral implementations and interpretations at this year’s International Plant Fair / IPM 2020 in Essen in Hall 1A (basement) in the BLOOM’s WORLD special show of the publishing and media house of the “green industry”.
Smithers-Oasis also appeared as part of BLOOM’s special show: With the themes Just Urban, Just Enjoy and Just Heaven, various floristry themes are covered and interpreted in a modern and young way.
Visitors expected not only trendy inspiration on the subject of weddings and mourning. Christiane Nebel, Lisa Thalmayr and Robin von Gestern inspired the visitors with great, extraordinary LIVE shows: Art meets Floristry – Floristry meets Art. Far away from all design boundaries, the 3 artists brought their specialties together and created a colorful world of flowers and art. In addition to the well-known black plug-in foam products, the focus was also on a new collection with which Smithers-Oasis started the new year: The OASIS® Designer’s Collection, consisting of 8 new foam products, specially developed for creative works and elaborate installations. They can be used pure or modeled according to the wishes, both wet or dry – there are no limits to creativity.
The colorful workpieces were given color in advance with the new spray series, OASIS® AQUA COLOUR and OASIS® EASY COLOUR.
How does the young generation deal with the subject of dying? De-tabooing and a more positive approach to the subject play a central role here. In the trend area “Just Heaven”, this aspect is to be taken up and floristically implemented. Far away from the classic funeral arrangement, bright and strong colors dominate. The focus is on the colorful coffin, which was artistically designed by Robin von Gestern and picks up on the idea of the individually designed coffin.
“The Urban Look Wedding” is the motto of the “Just Enjoy” theme area. Colorful bridal bouquets and decorations on the theme of upcycling were to be found here and are intended to show new ideas far removed from the popular boho trend.
